IRISH AIRES PAST COLUMNS

GERALDINE WRITES . . .

Hello to all the "friends of the Irishaires"

We are posting a letter from Jimmy Donovan. He called me a year ago to see if the Irishaires would publisize a Mass and event honoring the Port Authority Police officers, Hibernian Brothers who had died in their courageous response on 9-11. While talking he told me about his prematurely born son, a few months old. He and his family rallied to the babies bedside praying the Rosary. I asked him to come on the Irishaire and tell his story. Knowing all of you so well I knew you too, would rally and pray. There have been some incredible things that have occurred over the 18 years of the "Irishaires" when the calI to "pray" has been put out there. ..............where "two or more are gathered in His name................" Certainly, we are not all gathered in the same place.............but I have it under "Good Authority" the "air waves" ....the Irish"aire" waves are in His hands! Keep on praying, and we will all experience the grace!

Here's the letter . . .

Mrs McSorley:

First off I hope this e-mail finds you and your family well. I have been making the rounds over the past couple of weeks to say thanks to all my friends and family. If you remember I spoke with you on air back in Nov 2001 about promoting the (9/11 Memorial Mass by the AOH) As we conversed we started talking about my son and the hurdles he made and has ahead of him. Many professionals didn't give him a chance, except a small few, and of that small few, they told me to be prepared for some major complications, but as we talked about, these professionals did nt count on the power of prayer'' From my Aunt Mary's Rosary Society to my Mother-in laws group in Ludlow,Ma: from your loyal listeners to my AOH brothers. My prayers were answered, boy were they.

I wanted to let you know that in this month's Parents magazine(Sep 03) on page 97 there is a small article and before and after picture of my son Campbell Donovan, who is 2 yrs old now. He is walking and talking up a storm. I am trying to teach him the sign of the cross but he insists doing the son first before the father. Stubborn kid but he's come a long way.

My wife and I are taking him to a special school this afternoon that works with kids with all sorts of set backs. So I am running out to get more film for this, his first day.

Thanks to the Irish Aires listeners for their prayers.......They work....and if you should ever bump into a doubter, open to page 97.

Thanks again

Jimmy Donovan

PS.....I transfered from St. Michael's Division 8 in Jersey City to the new Divison 1 in Jersey City called the Father Mychal Judge Division.
